![]() Richard Muenz, cast member, The Night Kitchen Radio Theater Richard Muenz began his career as a classical singer in the extra chorus with The New York City Opera. He performed with that company for three seasons and as the same time became a member of the Grammy Award winning Gregg Smith Singers. It was with Gregg Smith that he recorded nine albums including William Schumans The Might Casey, performed in many of the cathedrals and concert halls in NYC and including a Carnegie Hall performance of the Liebeslieider Waltzes. At a performance as “Sam” in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti at the Whitney Museum, for which the composer was present, Mr. Muenz was invited to join the company of Bernstein and Lerner’s new musical 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and so began his career in musical theater. Feature and starring roles on Broadway would follow: On television he was “Jean-Luc” on Guiding Light, originated the role of “Joe Novak” on Ryan’s Hope, was “Dr. Kessler” on Another World, and “Frank Sinatra” in Mia Farrow: Lies and Betrayal, as well as over a dozen prime time guest appearances and commercials. Mr. Muenz was on the national tour of Jerry Zak’s revival of Guys and Dolls as “Sky Masterson”, on the tour of The Sound of Music, and the Broadway company of High Society. Most recently he appeared on Broadway opposite Bernadette Peters in Annie Get Your Gun and as “Pat Denning” in 42nd Street. On radio, Mr. Muenz appeared for three seasons with Garrison Keillor’s American Radio Company.
